Sweater respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible while still giving you accurate, local weather and packing guidance.

What we collect

Location. Either your approximate location (with your browser's permission) or a city you type in. Used only to fetch weather and nearby places for that spot.
Account details. If you sign in, your email and display name, plus your comfort profile, trips, favorites, and packing preferences.
Preferences. Things like units, language, and your chosen vibe are stored locally in your browser.
Cookies. See the Cookies section below for categories, purpose, and retention.

How we use it

To show local weather, suggest what to wear, save your trips and favorites across devices, and keep the app secure. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.

Third-party services

We call weather and mapping providers to answer your request and use a hosting/database provider to store your account data. They receive only what's necessary (e.g. a city name or coordinates) and act as processors on our behalf.

Your choices

Revoke location permission in your browser at any time.
Change or withdraw cookie consent via Cookie Preferences in the footer.
Request a copy or deletion of your account data by emailing us.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Optional categories are off by default and only activate after you opt in via the cookie banner or Cookie Preferences in the footer. Your choice is remembered for 180 days.

Strictly necessary. Required for the app to function — sign-in session, security (CSRF/CAPTCHA), and remembering your cookie choice itself. Cannot be turned off.
Analytics. Off by default. Helps us understand anonymous, aggregated usage (e.g. which screens are used) so we can improve the app. No advertising profiles.
Marketing. Off by default. Not currently used; reserved in case we ever add opt-in marketing features.

You can change or withdraw consent any time via Cookie Preferences in the footer. Clearing your browser's site data will also reset your choice.
